Matt Madsen focuses his practice on the areas of labor and employment law.  Matt has also represented clients in appellate matters before the New Jersey Appellate Division and New Jersey Supreme Court.   Prior to joining PRB Attorneys at Law, he spent several years representing labor unions in both the private and public sectors in New Jersey and New York and is now bringing his expertise to the firm to represent municipalities and businesses.

Matt’s expertise in traditional labor law matters includes negotiating collective bargaining agreements, representing clients in contract interpretation and disciplinary arbitrations, and participating in federal and state administrative agency proceedings.  These proceedings include matters before the Office of Administrative Law, Civil Service Commission, Public Employment Relations Commission, and National Labor Relations Board, among others.

Matt’s experience in employment law includes successful defenses of New Jersey Law Against Discrimination and Title VII claims of hostile work environment, and sex, race, and disability discrimination.  He has also successfully defended whistleblower and state tort claims filed against employers.

Matt attended Cornell Law School (Class of ’17), during which he participated in the Labor Law and Advanced Labor Law Clinics and served as a General Editor for the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy.  He graduated magna cum laude from Montclair State University (Class of ’11) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
