Jacqueline Weiss

Jacqueline Weiss focuses her practice on employment law matters involving discrimination, harassment, whistleblowing, retaliation, disability and workplace privacy. She also defends municipalities in personal injury cases arising under the New Jersey Tort Claims Act (Title 59).

She has extensive experience in employment law having litigated pregnancy, disability, sexual harassment and other related discrimination claims with the New York Division of Human Rights. Ms. Weiss appeared in state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey defending business entities involving ADA claims alleging failure to accommodate disabilities. Jacqueline has also defended clients alleged of pending wage and hour violations.

Jacqueline reviewed and interpreted employment contracts containing restrictive covenants often filing for injunctive relief against employees for labor violations on behalf of employers. She also was actively involved in the defense of commercial litigation claims often appearing at depositions, pre-trial conferences, and other related court events.

Jacqueline has conducted workplace pre-suit investigations regarding allegations of discrimination, sexual harassment claims, employee misconduct and retaliation. She conducted exhaustive interviews of witnesses, counseled clients and reviewed contracts and policies. Jacquline has assisted clients in resolving complex business and labor law issues in the US District Courts and State Courts of New York and New Jersey.

Ms. Weiss also previously represented Underwriters, Lloyd’s of London as coverage and monitoring counsel who provided professional liability insurance to hospitals, physicians, allied health and long-term care programs.

Jacqueline enthusiastically defends cases from their inception to disposition and has drafted numerous pleadings including but not limited to the preparation of pre-trial motions, briefs and memoranda addressing issues in defending employers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation disability, workplace privacy, wage and hour and restrictive covenants.

During law school, Ms. Weiss interned at the New York State Office of The Attorney General, Litigation Bureau in defending correctional facilities and other municipalities from Prisoner Rights claims under 42 U.S. Code § 1983. Jacqueline also interned for Justice Pineda-Kirwan in the NYS Supreme Court of Queens County.

Jacquline holds a BA from Union College and a JD from Albany Law School and is a certified mediator.
